What to do when life gets in the way of your health goals
What to do when life gets in the way of your own health goals
This time of year, I really like setting consistency goals rather than aggressive performance or body composition goals.
Life is more than just looking a certain way or running a certain speed or lifting a certain weight.
Those aggressive goals are built on foundation of daily habits. Without the daily habits, the aggressive goals will never happen anyway.
If this season is especially busy for you, consider setting weekly and daily consistency goals. For example:
Walk 10 miles each week
Eat a salad once per day
Meditate for 5 minutes every day
Complete 10 workouts before the end of the month
Do 50 pushups per day
You get the idea. Pick something you are 10/10 sure that you can do. Set a reminder on your phone or post a reminder on your fridge or in your car. Check that box every day or every week.
That’s it. You may find that checking that box motivates you to do more. You may not. It doesn’t matter. You’ve done what you needed to do to maintain a healthy lifestyle through all the busyness. You should feel great about that.
