10-8 CPAT
10-8 CPAT
The firefighter Candidate Physical Ability Test is no joke. You’ll have to move quickly under heavy loads, climb stairs, and perform many simulated job tasks that could one day mean the difference between life and death for you, your coworkers, and the people you’re trying to save.
This is your foundation of physical preparedness. Don’t go into your academy lagging behind your peers or draw unwanted attention to yourself because you weren’t disciplined enough to prepare properly.
Prepare now and shine in the academy.
Who is this program for?
This program is designed for the aspiring firefighter who is preparing for the fire academy and/or a physical fitness test. Every agency has their own PT test requirements and academy, but this program will prepare you for the most common physical tasks you’ll encounter.
10% of all proceeds will be donated to help first responders in crisis. Click here to learn more
I haven’t seen many programs out there to specifically address the needs of firefighters and firefighter candidates. That’s a shame. Almost every firefighting job task requires large amounts of strength and endurance, and the CPAT is a good assessment tool to see where you’re at, especially compared with more traditional military and police PT tests involving endless calisthenics and running. There’s more to tactical fitness than push-ups to failure.
This program includes traditional weight training and calisthenics, but also introduces you to sled work, sandbags, the weight vest, and other odd object training to better prepare you for the CPAT and the job. If you don’t have access to this equipment, not to worry. It can also be performed in any commercial gym, and I give you a full list of substitutions for equipment or space limitations.
You’ll get:
Full 12 week program to increase strength, power, and endurance
Integrated strength and conditioning workouts
Exercise descriptions, progressions, regressions, and modifications
